Australia’s first cellphone logo: ‘A new start’
Posted On June 13, 2021
Australia’s only cellphone maker has created a new logo that is designed to bring people back to the country’s telecommunications industry and make a point about the importance of digital services.
The Australian Federal Government said it had spent $100 million on the logo and has commissioned a design firm to develop it.
It is expected to be released to the public in the coming months.
The logo was developed in collaboration with telecommunications companies, but not a single person was involved in the project, said Minister for Communications Peter Garrett.
“I would have to say that a number of people that have worked on this in the past have been quite proud of it,” he said.
“We are proud of the contribution that we made to this process and we want people to look at it and see how we did it and the benefits it brings.”
